Maplewood Spotlight:

The Bear

We are excited to feature the Lexus Maplewood Bear this month for a special spotlight! It was difficult task but we managed to track down The Bear for an interview. The Bear is not much of a talker but we did find out some information.

The Bear started participating in Lexus events in 2011. Since then The Bear has been at BEAR’ly Open for 3 years, just recently in February. This event helps raise money for the White Bear Lake Emergency Food Shelf. In 2014 The Bear is looking forward to participating in the chipping contest at BEAR’ly Open. The Bear can’t wait to see if anyone can win!

The Bear also participates in the parade at Manitou Days, a three-week summer festival showcasing some of the greatest things about the White Bear Lake community. For 46 years this annual summer ritual has been a favorite of locals and visitors. One of festival highlights is the Grande Parade, which travels through the scenic downtown and along Lake Avenue, ending at Memorial Beach where a local band will perform at the Beach Dance following the parade.

The Bear says the events are all fun and enjoys being out in the community. The Bear's favorite part is bringing a smile to everyone’s faces.

When asked if there are any skills The Bear is working on, The Bear told us, "working on high 5 accuracy."
