http://www.imakenews.com/lexusofmaplewood">I thought 58.5 miles per gallon might have been a fluke, but just to prove it wasn’t I followed that number with 55.6 and 57.9! I took the “Hybrid Challenge” and came out a winner!

http://www.imakenews.com/lexusofmaplewood">            The CT200h is the 5th hybrid vehicle developed by Lexus. It is our first hybrid vehicle to achieve a combined fuel economy rating in excess of 40 miles per gallon. Driven in true green fashion, the CT200h is capable of surpassing the combined rating of 42 miles per gallon.

http://www.imakenews.com/lexusofmaplewood">            Several years ago when the Lexus RX400h made it’s appearance I established a driving route that led to the “Hybrid Challenge”. It is a mixture of freeway, intermediate and residential driving that provides the driver with a challenge. How many miles per gallon can you squeeze out of a vehicle on a consistent designed route. The trip is 9.5 miles long. The only rule is, you must drive the speed limit. Employees and customers enjoy taking the challenge. I currently hold the record for the RX450h, the HS250h and the CT200h. I have an advantage; I drive the HS250h daily as my main vehicle. My HS250h is rated at 34 miles per gallon. On a recent trip from Dubuque, Iowa to Hudson, Wisconsin I achieved 41.5 miles per gallon.

http://www.imakenews.com/lexusofmaplewood">            I invite all of you to visit Lexus of Maplewood and take the “Hybrid Challenge”. You will not only experience a hybrid vehicle capable of amazing fuel economy, you will also discover a Lexus that provides plenty of fun and utility. I had a customer who visited and drove the CT200h. His typical vehicle over the years had always sported over 300 horsepower. We drove the CT in “sport mode” for half of the test drive and “eco mode” for the other half. Driving aggressively, weaving in and out of traffic the result was 32 miles per gallon. Driving conservatively in the “eco mode” for the trip back, the CT produced 52 miles per gallon.
